Welcome aboard Shoot the Moon! All passengers are encouraged to laugh, learn and enjoy the view as we travel throughout the universe.
Let's do this!
I am super excited. I have decided to rekindle an old flame and I have decided to talk about it in this blog. Who’s the old flame? Well, its not you and its not even a who. It’s a what. And the what is space. Outer space. Ever since I can remember I have carried a torch for this unknown territory. Drawing me in with the gravitational pull of its celestial bodies, sparkling lights and piercing hot rays, this girl has never had a chance.
I’ve been gone for a while, a long while, but I have never forgotten the way it makes me feel – so warm with excitement for what’s next to be known as we continue to travel and discover our way through.
Well, I’m back now and I am ready to start the journey from the beginning. I am ready to learn everything I can about my universe and I would like to share it with you. Are you ready? Let’s do this!
Blame it on the sun
Neil Degrasse Tyson explains the moon and the tides on his StarTalk radio show.

How young are you?
Take a look below to see what your age would be on a neighboring planet. You might like what you see!!
Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system and is the closest to the sun. One day on this planet is the equivalent to 59 here on Earth. One year is only 88 of our days.
Venus is the second planet from the sun. There is only one day in its year since its years are approximately 225 Earth days long and its days are about 223 of our days.
Earth is 3rd in line from the sun. We know how long the days and years are but, did you know that the Earth’s atmosphere acts as shield against meteorites. Most debris burns in the atmosphere before it even touches the ground.
It takes the 4th planet, Mars, 667 Earth days to revolve around the sun. It’s days are similar to Earth’s taking a little over 24hrs to complete its rotation.
